Starter kit for installing wire between posts

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”20″][vc_column_text]

With this kit you will get all the components you require to install a 4 wire ladder espalier set-up between posts as shown in the diagram below. (Wire not included) This set-up is ideal for situations where you don’t have an existing wall or fence for surface mounting and can be used to espalier fruit trees or as a growing frame for climbing plants or vegetables such as tomatoes, beans, peas etc. It may also be useful for growing a privacy screen. Use AWG 12 (2.0mm) galvanised soft wire or stainless steel wire rope (not braided wire) for coastal environments.

TOOL REQUIRED

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The only tools you will require to complete this job are a power drill with a 35/64 inch (14mm) auger bit, pop rivet gun and wire cutters.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_single_image image=”51223″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”16″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

STEP 1

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Plan your job carefully, measuring and marking location for holes on each post.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_single_image image=”51224″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”16″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

STEP 2

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Drill holes through posts at each end and through any intermediate posts.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_single_image image=”51225″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”16″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

STEP 3

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Feed wire through holes, working your way back and forth as shown in the diagram above.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row oblique_section=”no” oblique_section_top_and_bottom=”both” oblique_section_position=”from_left_to_right” triangle_shape=”no” triangle_shape_position=”both”][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_single_image image=”51226″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”16″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

STEP 4

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Insert wire through Espalar anchor at the start and end points, and insert into post holes. Note caution above. Don’t tighten with pop rivet gun until after the next step.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_single_image image=”51227″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”16″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

STEP 5

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Insert guide plugs onto wire and into place in holes on posts. Note there is a groove in the top of the plug which the wire should follow.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_single_image image=”51228″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”16″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

STEP 6

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Tension wire with pop rivet gun. Trim wire at start point and place end cap. Fit tension cap at other end and trim wire flush with cap.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”1″ up=”30″ down=”0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-md-3 vc_col-xs-12″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”grid” text_align=”center” background_color=”#f5f5f5″ padding_top=”80″ padding_bottom=”80″][vc_column][vc_column_text]
